M10 News: Save the world with chocolate

It is a very "in" thing to be environmentally sustainable right now. In fact, the idea of going green is so expanding that many of my friends and peers are talking about switching to all organic products from face serums to shampoos to the food they eat. In this article, chocolate is explored by how to choose the best cocoa when pesticides and massive amounts of water are used to grow them. However, farms with a fairtrade certification prevent any of the typical environmental problems and are best to by chocolate from. Chocolate is global because more and more people are becoming local producers. In 2015/2016 there were almost 4000 ton of cocoa produced! So this Easter, we can shop organic for our cocoa eggs!

  1. Yes! You are exactly right. More and more people are beginning to switch over to using and consuming organic products (including me). It's cheesy to say but it has been one of the best decisions of my life. Organic chocolate from sustainable fair-trade farms really does taste better too. I am so happy this article is pushing people to buy organic chocolate from fair-trade farms/companies.

  2. Hi Tina
Very appropriate article for this Easter Sunday. I agree that more and more people are trying to go green and eat organically which is a great thing. There are many studies that cacao may have medicinal benefits and that chocolate can help with depression so it great that there is more local producers.
