M9.3 Green Chemistry
I am really fond of the idea of green chemistry because it removes the source of environmental pollutions. Rather than limiting the exposure or use of pollutions, it tries to target the issue specifically. If we had utilized green chemistry from the beginning, then we may have saved so much of our wild life and sea animals. Also, air pollution would be minimized as well because toxic chemicals would not have been used. On a day to day basis, I am seeing more and more products that are biodegradable such as biodegradable coffee cups. The principles of green chemistry is a great way to move forward and build on to create a more environmentally sound world. To prevent pollution and stop it from the source, and having that knowledge to do those things, is a huge gift to preventing further global warming.

I agree with you that if we had used green chemistry since the beginning it would avoid a lot of damage and deaths. It is great that we are starting to use more biodegradable products and in Hawaii they are trying to ban plastic straws, so i think we are moving in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteI agree, now that we have more knowledge about green chemistry, we can use it to prevent global warming and other actions that are harmful to our environment. It has been nice to see more and more biodegradable products being used in our societies. Hopefully they will become the mainstream products in the future.
